Notes: Larry Lazar's comments were in response to Facebook conversation about a blog I had just written the day before, Understanding Climate Change starts with Understanding 'What is Science?'

Two years after writing his comment, Larry Lazar took many effective actions to promote the idea that we have to change to reduce the impact of climate change.  He took actions such as:

First, he wrote a 13 part blog for his neighborhood Eureka-Wildwood Patch online newspaper.

Second, he went to San Francisco in August, 2012 to attend the Climate Reality Project Training lead by Al Gore to be trained to be a Climate Reality Project Leader to give presentations on climate change.  Since then, he has given over 23 climate change presentations in the St. Louis, MO area with his talk, "From Doubtful to Alarmed."

Even more, Larry attended two more Climate Reality Trainings, Chicago, Illinois in August, 2013 and Johannesburg, South Africa to become a mentor to over 25 Climate Reality Project Leaders in the US and abroad.  

Last November, he traveled to the Lenexa, Kansas Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hearing as one of over 200 people to testify in favor of strong EPA carbon regulations on coal fired power powers.  (Image of Larry was taken from this event).

Larry then wrote an opinion editorial in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on climate chagne on November 27, 2013, Something in the weather tells us climate change is real.

Most recently, Larry organized a climate change panel discussion at Eastern Central College in Union, MO on April 17th.  He was one of four Climate Reality Project Leaders speaking that night, including Dr. Johann Bruhn, Corinne McAfee and me (Brian Ettling).

Finally, Larry, Dr. Jack Fishman from St. Louis University, and I particpated in an hour long interview on climate change on the local St. Louis NPR affiliate, KWMU 90.7 FM, show "St. Louis On the Air," on April 15, 2014.  

Thank you, Larry, for speaking out as loudly as you can that we must change to do everything we can to solve climate change.
